I just love it!

I do just love it.

I love it when I get four ‘likes’ in four seconds, for four posts, all from the same person,  which are each… at least..  posts of at least one thousand words long. (brevity ain’t my soul of wit)

I love this.

I wish. I wish… I wish… I wish I could read that fast.

Maybe that is why I failed in College? (I ‘mouthed’ my words… not really, but… )

Peace Y’all.

  1. Me too! Same here! I always find it amazing when someone likes something that I posted and I didn’t really like it, I just shared because that’s why I blog. Just to share! I think it’s funny you noticed it too. I notice it because my phone goes off when someone likes. Maybe I do are about them after all! Who would of thunk it?

  2. Of course that is also a possibility.
I may have (once again) opened a can of worms with this post.
    😉
At least it did generate some conversation. That is always a good thing.
    Thanks Anon,
    Cheers

  3. Maybe that person had already read your posts, but didn’t leave a comment or like the posts. Later they came back and liked them. It happens!

  4. You are correct. It should be about the process of writing, not about catching likes… but feedback: That is the best thing for any writer in my opinion.
    And thanks for yours.
    Cheers

  5. Well see….I have to admit sometimes I don’t read entire posts….but for instance…on this post, I saw your funny photo…and would have hit the like button without reading the whole post.

  6. Lol shut up Lance why does it matter?

At least they’re taking the time to click some buttons on your page… You could have gotten zero likes in zero seconds and feel just as shitty.

    Beggars can’t be choosers.

  7. I am a speedy reader and I got a lot out of your post and the comments. A lot. Now I have to go speed-write another daily post. So long, slow-poke.

  8. I think I know what you’re implying. But it’s best to disengage from all that. Stats aren’t anything you can do anything about so just ride the wave. Write and don’t worry about the likes. (Easier said than done. Just ask…me, for instance.)

  9. I am not on a soapbox here. I am just saying that to me… when I get four likes on four posts that are each 1k words long…. and all within one minute…. my bullshit meter red-lines. Don’t get me wrong: I like ‘likes’, I just wish them to be bona-fide.
    That’s all.
Cheers, and thanks for ‘reading’ and commenting.

  10. I’m just throwing this out there: Sometimes I read posts, even comment on them and everything, and I forget to click the damn star. It happens to me a LOT, actually. Then I have to go back and click the damn stars. So, I might click more than one in a row. I’m not saying that’s what happened here; I’m saying it’s within the realm of possibility.

  11. Not really T,
Most in ‘This WordPress’ Cosa Nostra, ‘Thing of Ours’ are readers. Most are sincere. I just sometimes go three bubbles off plumb when I see….
Well, you know what I mean.

  12. Ya know, Teela, I am a lot of things. Some good, most bad.
But the thing I am never is insincere. If I ‘like’ your post, I have read your post. If I ‘don’t like’ your post, I have read your post.
I don’t go to WP Reader and click ‘like away’.

This is not a new topic for me… I have expressed my feelings on this topic before. Let’s just call it a ‘pet peeve’ and go on.
But. BUT! I want readers! Not ‘likers’ Not ‘Followers!’
    ‘Readers.’

    I am a ‘reader.’
    I like that about me.
    End of rant…

  13. I’m not a speed reader so I have to take my time. I don’t want to miss a thing.
But I get your meaning with the four second deal.
    Their loss I say.
    T
