Just For Fun Y’all, I am going to throw a new video (or quote, or some other surprise nonsense) up here everyday. Why? You may ask.

Because I think an ‘About Page’ should be ever-changing and dynamic, just as the Person it is purported to be “About” is ever-changing and dynamic.

Therefore, I upload some of my favorite stuff here. Daily (usually)

So…  here goes for 11 July: Albuquerque (I had the opportunity to live there, once.) For, you see, my mom took a wrong turn at Moriarty… hence: young lives changed. For some forever.

Hope you enjoy.

(You’ll have to ‘rewind’ this first one because YouTube is STUPID)

More ‘Shonnie’ tomorrow. Story at eleven.

Night, Night.

Time to update this page.

Just do not know how.

More inane vids?

More politics?

Oh Hell No!

What then?

New Photo?

(My camera is on the fritz)

Well.

Shit?

What then?

Honestly.

I do not know.

No one reads this shit anyhow.

What is the point?

  1. Those sunglasses look like the ones that Phil Spector’s driver wore in Easy Rider.

  2. Mr. Marcom, I don’t see anything recent from you. This is my 1st time here and I hope to get a chance to find that Lenny on Jack Ruby, but the one I did find was useful, me not good with working this “technology” yet, just a little cellphone, but I only saw 2017 from you and that’s worrisome, etc.

  3. Hi Dixie,
As a matter-of-fact…. yes I do remember your mother. We were not really close friends at SFM, but ‘close friends’ at SFM meant something a little more than ‘close friends’ meant “Back in The World”.
    I digress.
Debbie and I once gazed at Saturn through a telescope I commandeered from the ComOps department (cannot recall if I had their permission; I probably just saw it there, unused, and took it).
Debbie had never seen ‘Saturn Live’ before, and I, as a wanna-be amature Carl Sagan was just the guy….
Debbie was always very sweet to me and I liked her alot. We just never got close, in that SFM way.

So… how is Debbie these days by the way?

Cheers Dixie and thanks for searching out my blog. It can be all over the place, so don’t dive in too deep (unless spiders don’t scare ya none)

  4. Hi Lance, Sorry it took so long to get back to you, no good excuse comes to mind. Glad to hear you’re still out there somewhere! As for the Leadstay days, I’ve never thought any less of you. That’s an environment that most would never understand and few can survive for any duration. I’m living in Arkansas now. Spent about 6 good years in the oilfield until that crashed. I had Buerger working with me for a while but we’ve grown apart. I’m doing some mechanic work in my own shop and liking it. The Wolf days are among my finest hours, and I still keep in touch with a few of my guys from there. I doubt there will be another opportunity like that, but glad to have done it when it was there. Take care my friend, and it’s great to hear from you again. Drop me your email address when you get a minute and don’t be a stranger. Merry Christmas!

    Best Regards, Dan Sumrall

  5. Hello Dan,

Truth be told, I think of you often. The year we shared running Camp Wolf, well, those were good times. I do not recall if you were present the day I gave to my TCN’s my “These are the best times of your life speech”, but of course you would have concurred, for I did believe (and knew) every word to be true; Filipinos: Ha! They (and we) never had it so good. Those thinking among us, knew this.

The days at Camp Wolf are lost to us now, save for our memories. Some American writer once wrote: “You can never go home again.”

    Too true.

Dan, I am so sorry for how I disappointed you and Buerger when I came to LeadStay, but, I just could not make that adjustment, no matter how hard I did try. And I really did try. But, booze got a-hold of me, and that is my sad story, only for me.

No excuses there, just fact. When I was in charge of Wolfe, I was a man, when I was working for Ahmed, I was not.
Simple math to me at the time.
    Whatever.

I always admired you, and the year we spent running Camp Wolfe together was a good year for me.

That is a year I will never forget.

    As for me now…

    Well,
I am languishing away in Memphis, America, and I don’t like it, although I have recently built me a new computer (yes; I am a geek–proud of it) and I wile away my time looking at it and marveling at how it actually works.

Oh, and I still look for “That Next Big Gig” to get me back to the “Sandbox” because that is where I thrive.

I leave you with this, a fond remembrance:

Oh, and for any casual readers out there: Dan is the bearded guy (in the video) on top of the flammable tanker truck, looking oh so… unaware…

  6. Hi Lance,
It’s Leadstay Dan here. I’ve often wondered what you are up to these days. I still wonder. Drop me a line sometime my friend!
